В металле у них такие результаты:
1. Anaal Nathrakh «Vanitas». Почему они лучшие? Сегодняшние Anaal Nathrakh звучат чуть более структурированно, нежели в те времена, когда группу полюбил Джон Пил, и в озверелой какофонии «Vanitas» можно даже разобрать что-то вроде мелодий — в массе своей таких же забойных, как и их реализация.
2. Neurosis «Honor Found in Decay». Почему они лучшие? Neurosis играют, что называется, music by mood — и поскольку с подходящим настроением в России все в страшном порядке, у этих песен расстроенного человека здесь отличные перспективы.
3. High on Fire «De Vermis Mysteriis». Почему они лучшие? High on Fire — настоящие суперзвезды стоунер-рока новой формации, музыки, более всего смахивающей на персонажа слэшера из жизни реднеков: плохо пахнущего, красного от натуги, бородатого и тупого — и при этом дико убедительного в своем душегубском простодушии.
4. Pig Destroyer «Book Burner». Почему они лучшие? В послужном списке идеолога Pig Destroyer Скотта Халла — группы в диапазоне от Anal Cunt до Japanese Torture Comedy Hour, так что получасовой «Book Burner» — отличная возможность одним махом ознакомиться со всем человеческим опытом, накопленным за 25 лет существования грайндкорового жанра.
5. Baroness «Yellow & Green». Почему они лучшие? Свой переход в хиппи-металлическую эстетику Baroness усугубили блаженным инди-фолковым многоголосием и цветастыми инструментальными длиннотами — и неожиданно получили на выходе пластинку, соразмерной которой в 2012 году в хард-роке не выходило.
